Description

Twenty-one defendants of twenty-four former high officials of I. G. Farben indicted by the Chief of Counsel were present on their day of arraignment in the main court at Nurnberg 14 August 47. All pleaded not guilty to the charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity filed against them. In the dock, front row, left to right include defendants Carl Krauch, Hermann Schmitz, Georg von Schnitzler, Fritz Gajewski, Heinrich Hoerlin, August von Knieriem, Fritz Ter Meer, Christian Schneider, Otto Ambros, Ernest Buergin, and Heinrich Buetefisch. In the Rear, same order are Paul Haefliger, Max Ilgner, Friedrich Jaehne, Hans Kuehne, Wilhelm Mann. Heinrich Oster, Walter Duerrfeld, Heinrich Gattineau, Erich von der Heyde and Hans Kluger.
