Abstract
The article offers information on the history, development and significance of the collateral mortgage law in Louisiana with reference to the comprehensive revisions to Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code in 2001. It discusses the judicial decision of the Louisiana Supreme Court in the case of Diamond Services Corporation v. Benoit regarding collateral mortgage notes. It analyzes the U.S. Louisiana District Court's decision in KeyBank National Association v. Perkins Rowe Associates LLC.
