Abstract
The article offers information on the history, purpose, and significant of the Louisiana law of pledge drafted by the Louisiana State Law Institute and passed by the Louisiana legislative assembly into law effective from January 1, 2015. It informs that the law of pledge applies the principles of personal liability to provide greater security for loans and mortgages under the provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code.
