Description
HERMANN SCHMITZ, former chairman of the Managing Board of Directors of I. G. Farben Industry, is shown in a Nurnberg courtroom August 14, 1947, when he and 20 other former Farben officials were arraigned on charges of planning and waging wars of aggression, plunder and spoliation of countries occupied by Germany, use of slave labor and mistreatment of foreign nationals and prisoners of war. Schmitz pleaded, "not under any circumstances guilty."
