Description
In the war crimes trial of 23 I.G. Farben directors at Nurnberg, defense attorney Dr. Karl Hoffman, counsel for Otto Ambros, asks a U.S. Tribunal to acquit his client. Ambros was a member of the Farben Board of Directors, chief of the Chemical Warfare Committee of the Reich Ministry of Armaments and War Production, and production chief for buna and poison gas. He and the other Farben defendants were charged with aiding Hitler in his aggressions. The defense argued that industrialists were never invited into the Nazi's inner circle since they were not trusted because of their international ties. Photograph 11 June 1948
