Duerrfeld Addresses the Tribunal OMGUS MILITARY TRIBUNAL - Case 6, Nurnberg, Ger. OMT-VI-GV-15 "There will be no peace in the world until men learn to forgive one another," Walter Duerrfeld (at podium) told a U.S. War Crimes Tribunal (left) at Nurnberg. Duerrfeld, Director and Construction Manager of I.G. Farben's Auswitch(sic) plant and the Monowitz Concentration Camp, is one of 23 Farben officials accused of war crimes who made their final pleas before the court. The prosecution has charged these industrialists with entering a working alliance with Hitler to rebuild a mighty German armed force for aggressive wars in return for a share of the spoils that included foreign slave workers for Farben plants and factories, to be absorbed into the vast Farben chemical empire. Counsel for the defense sit at the right while attorneys for the prosecution are at the tables behind Duerrfeld. Photograph 11 June 1948 Photo [41]
