Abstract
In 2016, to combat environmental damage, the French legislature introduced a new chapter in the Civil Code governing compensation for ecological damage through civil liability. The reform consolidated previous case law by significantly modifying the interpersonal logic of civil liability. A few years on, it is time to assess the effects of this reform.
